Wimpy Daffodils :-(

You'd think daffodils would be a no-brainer, but apparently not.

I'd intended to fertilize them, but got pregnant and ridiculously
sick/nauseous the whole time, so the flowers have suffered. My
questions are . . .

1. Is it too late to hit 'em with some sort of fertilizer to get them
blooming (I only got 1 bloom) :-(

and . . .

2. What type of fertilizer should I use next year (and at what time of
year) to get more blooms?
