don't know for sure harry but i would guess at around 7+ years

and they have loooong memories! Apparently they can remember up to 50 faces,
so if you've ever flapped at one in anger (or terror <g>).... be afraid!

We used to have one living in a tree in our front yard. It never ever
attacked us, although it swooped other people's cats etc...

I have been hand feeding magpies for about 15 years. They are now 2
distinct families, and never come for feeding at the same time (obviously
birds have some form of gentlemen's agreements too). I would have to say
the average age is 12 years, some longer, some not so long.
