I am a recent transplant from the midwest to Arizona (Lake Havasu City).
I don't see very many outdoor hanging baskets here. Don't they do well
in the hot climate here?

In a shaded spot, with a water-proof liner, and watered DAILY,
drought-tolerant heat resistent plants have a slight chance of
surviving.

But between the 50MPH gusts, the 5% humidity, and the baking 120+
summer temps, it works best if you have fade-proof plastic
flowers in pots that are bolted to concrete.

Works okay in winter. Don't do well in summer. Keep the pots shaded
from the summer sun - roots will get too hot. Will also need to be
watered at least once daily in summer depending on the pot size, pot
material, and plant type and size.
