Gary,

I've not seen you around these parts until recently. Are you new to
austin.gardening maybe?

Can I let you in on a little secret only a true Austin gardener would know
and appreciate?

When it hits 90 degrees all day long, some Austin gardeners get sort a
cranky (and the Austin drivers even worse). Since this is USENET but
centered in Texas, we are real patient and neighborly and understand their
feelings and disgruntlement's since we are all in the same boat here.

The heat effects some more than others and that is just part of our bein'
neighborly and letting them blow off a little steam. :) But I will warn
you, this is only the beginning of an Austin, TX summer, so buckle up! ;)

Best to Ya'll

First came to Austin in '63, so I guess I am new here, at least in terms of
the geological epoch. Thanks for telling that it is hot in the summertime.
Had not noticed that. Guess you're right, when it gets hot, that's a good
excuse for adults to go online and behave like adolescents. What a
wonderful relief from the heat that must provide! Probably saves a great
deal of money that would otherwise have gone for air conditioning.

Well, some people don't realize that heat effects their mood and judgment
and what they react to. You see it in traffic all the time. Like right now
for instance, you feel it real necessary to keep making your point about
this verbal discussion thing.

I betcha' 50 cents that if this was mid-January, you would not have said a
word about it. But instead you got all worked up and felt the need to make
your point a couple of times. People honk a lot more too. See what I mean...

Happens. ;)

Not really. They would prefer to be out in the garden diggin' up grubs and
ruining their manicure instead of indoors sitting in front of the evaporated
cooler. This is where the problem lies, not in the air conditioning. Grok,
dude? ;)
