Manzanita Driftwood

Hi;
Has anyone made Driftwood from Manzanita or Oak roots? I have boiled them
six times and still get quite a bit of color in the water. Are they toxic
and am I wasting my time?

No, they are no toxic... and you'aren't wasting your time. Put it in the
aquarium and die will go away with regular water changes. It is faster and
easyer way... believe me.

Well you have to live in CA for this question and the answer is they
are fine.
Roots are not needed, you can use the truck/branches etc.

Main thing: find heavy dense wood that's been dead for at least 2
years.
REdwood and most woods are fine if soaked a few times prior. Make sure
to cut off any rot.
