plant suggestion

Seeking ideas for an attractive foliage pot plant to place in my bathroom,
so humidity and filtered light would be it's lot in life.

Aglaonema, Aspidistra, Dieffenbachia, Dracaena, Maranta, Monstera,
Philodendron, Peace Lily, Umbrella Tree, Fishbone Fern. Pothos, maybe.
Plants that are variegated, or colourful, revert to green if the light
is not bright enough.

If the light is good, you can also grow ferns (or just about anything in
the indoors section of a nursery, except cacti).

Yes, same plant. Very hardy indoors.

What's that foliage plant that comes in various colours, often variagated
with red, green & white leaves... I've got a couple in my enclosed garden &
they're thriving.

Could be Draceana marginata. That has long, thin, pointed leaves, with
the different colours in stripes down the length. Could also be Maranta,
Croton, Caladium, Coleus, Cordyline. If you describe the leaves more, or
have a photo, I might be able to tell you more. Or do a Google image search.

I'm not sure an African Violet would be any good in a bathroom as they don't
like moisture on their leaves & I think the humidity of a bathroom
environment would be too much... of course I could be wrong :) I've never
understood people's comments about this plant being difficult to grow & to
get to flower. I've got a black thumb & yet my AVs have always flowered
profusely, I think possibly because it gets full morning sun in my north
facing kitchen window. I also feed it watered down blood from meat
packaging.


Anyone know of any AV specialist nurseries, or any that have a good range,
in Perth?
