I hope it is appropriate to ask this one. Since I live in a remote area
with limited access to plants I would have been trying to find reputable
Australian nurseries that offer mail ordering. I am looking for plants that
can be grown in a tropical environment so most bulbs are not suitable. (I
could be wrong though!!) I have gone through a couple of search engines and
at the moment haven't turned up much.
Does anyone know of any?

You may need to be more specific as to the types of plants you're
after. For edible and ornamental trees and plants, try Daleys Fruit
Tree nursery. They specialise in tropical and sub-tropical species.
I've ordered from them a number of times and I've always been quite
satisfied with their service and the quality of the plants on arrival.

Try this link below. If you cannot connect, use "Australian Plant Society"
in your search.On the general site there is all sorts of info on suitability
of plants to areas and the link to nurseries gives them state by state and
also you could follow the links to the WA group of APS which has more info
again. You can also ask in the Yahoo group "Australian plants". You are
truly fortunate to live in WA as they have the most spectacular plants out
of all the states

I recently bought

_The Aussie Plant Finder_ by Margaret Hibbert

which has a gazillion mail-order places listed.

It cost $25 and I'd recommend buying a copy.
