Default Ants, ants and more ants....

Can someone please offer some suggestion for getting rid of ants... they
are all over our yard. We have the big black ants that bite and give me a
severe allergy reaction, and there is the little common black/brown ant, but
they are everywhere. We have used the Hortico Ant Spray and also Ant Fix,
but we don't seem to be having much effect. We've tried borax and
breadcrumbs also, but concerned that the birds will eat the breadcrumbs.

g'day janet,

try borax with sugar, icing sugar or honey, you can dissolve the
sugars in a bt of water with the borax or use them dry. place the
baits in jar lids on the ants pathways these take time to work as the
mix gets taken back to the nest where it is fed to the queen and the
young and they die the nest should ten die out.

this should help with the little ants not sure about the bigger ones.
also there are ant recipes on my remedies page.

also running water into their nest (if you can find it) for 3 or 4
days should make them move on hopefully out of your yard.

Check out these tips from the CSIRO web site.

Good Luck.
