bamboo advice
Hello
I am replanning my garden and am trying to make it as low maintenance as possible as I am not very green fingered. I've got a border around my lawn which I've extended to around 1.5 metres wide. I want to plant a row of bamboo and have space to plant some verbena in front of it. The total length of the border is around 20 metres. I am not that bothered about the colour of the bamboo but would like it to not grow too tall - around 3-4 metres maximum. Also need advice about how to plant? how far apart, Is it best to put it in containers sunk into the ground etc?I am worried about it spreading. Cost is also a factor, so the cheapest way to do this would be best, I don't mind waiting for the plants to mature. Any advice (in the most basic terms for a gardening novice) is very much appreciated! I am in the UK - north west by the way Many thanks |
