Default Picking the fall garden

Picked a peck of peppers again yesterday. I am still amazed at how long
the lone Gypsy plant has been producing. Running up over three years of
production and still going. Off to the library for the weekly run of
scifi and then back to bag a peck of peppers.

Harvested some kale for dinner yesterday, was right tasty. The tomatoes
are still producing in large quantities but a frost is said to be coming
today or tomorrow so I suspect the maters will be gone with the freeze.
Eggplant still producing but I think they will go the way of the maters.
Otherwise lots of various lettuces and other greens are doing well. I do
like a mixed salad daily.

Over three days we were blessed with 4 inches of rain, nice gently free
water. Today we have received .07 so far but I reckon more is coming.
Need to get out there and prune the pear tree but I don't like being
either cold or wet or both so it will have to wait a bit more.

Dawg is hanging her back end off the porch instead of going out in the
rain. I am amazed at how smart some dawgs are. Of course she is still
shedding her summer coat so I have to go out there twice a day and brush
dead hair out of her coat. She seems to enjoy it and turns to get more
brushing without being told to.
