Default Carnations

Carnations are my mother's favourite flower. A couple weeks ago, I
found, at Home Depot, packages of Carnation seeds (which I have sown
to get them started). Yesterday, Home Depot also had Carnations in 10
cm plastic pots. Will these do OK as houseplants? If so, what
conditions do they need to thrive?

Cheers,

Ted
