That sounds appealing desperate to me; esp removing the earth. It's been suggested by a mural acquaintance that I PLANT some edibles, even tomatoes, in that breadth to see what happens to them. Perhaps wait until this awkward air-conditioned and clammy gives way to accepted summer heat.
