Thanks, Love, I know that there are people on the internet who will say
anything, if they think they can get your eyes to bug out. As for our
local loons, "commie Nazis", "fascist socialists", or "a gowdam
Glue-Head morphing mother****ing sorry sack of hammered shit and a sorry
excuse of a human being", is grist for the mill.

Everybody knows that the government doesn't represent the people
anymore, the news we get are lies, and things aren't going to get better.
Both the liberals and conservatives will agree to this, but not on the
details.

The British reporter uncovered our instability, and this is important
news to the rest of the world. We could easily go from "Super Power" to
"failed state" very quickly, but we do spend half the world military
budget, so the transition won't be a quiet one.

Mad dog Republicans to the right. Democratic spider webs to the left. True conservatives, and liberals not to be found anywhere in the phantasmagoria
of the American political landscape.

America is not broke. The country is awash in wealth and cash.
It's just that it's not in your hands. It has been transferred, in the
greatest heist in history, from the workers and consumers to the banks
and the portfolios of the uber-rich.

Dear Aussie Friend-

You have now been subjected to what we US-ians experience on a daily
basis. It's embarrassing; actually, humiliating, for the world to see
what a bunch of wild-eyed, crazy yahoos comprise, alas, a fair share
of our population. Or maybe they are just more "vocal". In any case,
it does NOT augur well for our future. Billy's .sig is a pretty good
apercu of our political, social, cultural, and economic situation. I
might not be around for the apocalypse, but my children will...

I haven't been down your way since the '84 Olympics. Maybe it's time
to consider a move..

(Actually, I'll put that on hold until your government reverses its
policy on asylum seekers. Have read too much about how they are
treated while awaiting a decision, not to mention being immediately
deported. This is NOT a snotty rejoinder! Our immigration policies
are none too compassionate either, and Europe's are a disaster.)

Not sayin' it will happen, but we have the fracture line along which it
could happen.
