Exclamation Vintage Lawn Mower

Hello

If you know about antique UK manufactured lawnmowers perhaps you could advise on the following ?

I have an 1920's Atco Standard 16" 9 blade lawnmower which is in need of full renovation, and a replacement grassbox.

Does anybody know who might undertake this work in Shrewsbury /Shropshire / West Midlands ? and what it would likely cost ?

Many Thanks
Ian Russell

Do notice that this is a usenet group that gardenbanter copies to their site.
Better to access it through usenet.

Can't help you much but it was sold by montgomery wards and I would say your right on the vintage if the engine is vertical shaft. Vertical shaft was post WWII and by the sixties wards had split lawn and garden away from the hardware dept. The first two didgits in the model being 84 indicates hardware dept. Lawn and garden was dept. 89.
