Default Postdoctoral Position announcement

Postdoctoral Position in Plant Developmental Signaling

Laboratory of Jennifer Fletcher, Plant Gene Expression Center
A Postdoctoral Scholar-Employee position is available immediately at the Plant Gene Expression Center in Albany, CA to study intercellular signaling pathways that regulate plant organ formation. The postdoctoral appointment will be through the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. Our lab studies the regulatory pathways that maintain stem cell function in the shoot apical meristem, as well those that direct early organ patterning and polarity events on the meristem flanks. We use a combination of genetic, genomic, molecular and biochemical approaches. This position will investigate how several early steps in Arabidopsis leaf development are controlled by members of the CLE family of small polypeptide signaling molecules.

The initial appointment is for one year, with renewal based on performance and funding availability.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD in related field by the appointment start date.

Additional Qualifications:

A strong background and publication record in genetics, molecular biology, developmental biology, or a related field.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range is $39,264 – $46,092/annually, depending on prior postdoctoral experience. Generous benefits are included (http://vspa.berkeley.edu/postdocs).

To Apply:
