Default Lily/goldfish pond

This year I've been working on getting a nice group of wakins & telescopes
in my lily pond. The other day I lost one female to what I thought was a
spawning injury. She was aloof for a couple of days and then dead, swollen
red abdomen.

Well 2 days ago one of my prettiest male was hanging off aloof, and today
he was swimming rather aimless under the surface, not eating. I did a 25%
water change (as I was doing lily maintenance anyway) and gave him a salt
dip. He came around right quick after that and even ate a little this
evening. I'm planning to prazi the pond tomorrow as I'm thinking a
treatment for gill flukes is in order. ~ jan

I am glad you saved the male. Any further conclusions about what
happened?

Definitely gill flukes. The next day he tried to eat and spat it out
shaking his head. I treated with Prazi and all better. I did a salt
calculator check using Roark's device to figure gallons first. About 1000
gallons with filters. He's eating and swimming with the others again, and
I'm sure the others are feeling better too. If they're that bad on one
they're probably on the others as well. I'm glad it was an easy fix. ~ jan
