Default Automatic Feeder Suggestions

We'll be away for two weeks in May and have a 450 gallon pond with at
least 2 dozen small to, mainly, large goldfish. It's just been cleaned
and new plants added, algae all gone, so there'll be little for the fish
to feed on. I see compressed disks of food available, but doubt that
they'd even last a week. Any suggestions on an automatic feeder we might
buy to use, nothing "fancy"?

How about a $30 battery operated job-
AquaChef Automatic Aquarium Fish Feeder - 3 in. x 5 1/4 in. x 3 in.
http://www.amazon.com/AquaChef-Autom...2113603&sr=8-1

I got one last fall when I moved some fish & plants to the basement.
Indoors the factory batteries lasted 5 months. As far as I can
tell it never malfunctioned all winter. I check on the fish once a
week or so & they're happy.

It can feed 4 times a day- and will feed one or two 'shakes' each
time. I've used the flake food [for Rosy Reds] and have crumbled
some of the larger flakes so they go through easier.

You'd have to protect it from weather and critters outside. It would
probably be simple enough to give it a little shelter at the pond &
use it outdoors.

Don't know what or how much a "large" goldfish eats- so maybe you'd
want 2 of them. Just guessing- but I'd say one holds about 3/4 cup
of food.
