Default Ornamental sandstone wearing out pump?

Have a piece of sandstone that i would like to put in an aquarium. (there is
no longer an aquarium newsgroup). Is the sandstone likely to shed sand and
hence wear out my pump more quickly? Thanks for advice. Thanks for
advice.

Try this:

Depends on the sandstone. Some are much harder than others.
