Need some held identifying bumps on goldfish, water temp 50 degrees,
We live in maryland just outside Baltimore.
Nice day out so needed to get the bottom of the pond cleaned and 25%
water change,noticed some goldfish with bumps just under the
skin,sticking out like a pimple on some larger on others.sharing pond
with Koi all look in good shape,Have added salt @ 15% to aid the
fish, one week has gone past and no change,please help. David

I sure hope that salt is 0.15%!!!!!! keep it under 0.1%. you need to snag one of
those goldfish. if it ruptures and white pus comes out it may well be internal
infection and definitely feed antibiotic food like romet for a couple weeks. people
have been having pretty good luck curing this with kanamycin in tanks as both
oxolinic acid and kanamycin are absorbed thru the skin. but hard to treat whole
pond. now if the bumps are white and on the gills.. that is breeding stars. Ingrid

breeding stars are white bumps on the gill covers, sometimes other places on the head
indicating GF is of breeding age. they actually can look like ich.. big grains of
salt. Ingrid
