I noticed this newsgroup recently and have no idea how it came about.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

I updated my groups list and it disappeared. Just a fluke.

I just checked and Road Runner doesn't carry a newsgroup Austin.Gardens. Are
there any posts in it?

Ooops... misread your title. If you look in the same thread I posted,
there was a discussion on whether to name this group a.gardening or
a.gardens back in '96.

Hmm, doesn't surprise me I asked something about my magical collection of
plants, but I still don't see the newsgroup. Maybe it just died off? This one
replaced it?

Who knows.

I just requested that RR add it. It's only available on my Giganews
server at the moment, although the traffic on this group wouldn't seem to
justify support for another group of similar interest. I tend to agree with
the discussion from '96 that Victor posted. "Gardening" invokes the
activity, while "gardens" implies something akin to the old British guy from
the formerly interesting "The Victory Garden".
