Irrigation contractor recommendations? And question...
I need some recommendations on someone to adjust or redo the
irrigation system for our lawn. The person I originally used left town, and the replacement recommended to me never calls back. Also, any thoughts on rotors versus spray heads for home lawns? When looking at the rotor system we have had I always got the feeling they weren't doing a good job evenly distributing water. I just got out and mowed and really looked at my lawn, which is browning in odd patches. Sure enough it is because of the rotors not putting water out over the entire circle they cover, and even with overlap I don't get good coverage. I can even pinpoint rotor locations by looking at green versus brown spots. I wondered if I should convert to spray heads, the new part of the yard where we installed this type of system looks great everywhere. Thanks. andyd adonnelly AT austin DOTT rr DOT com |

Thanks. andyd adonnelly AT austin DOTT rr DOT com Don't know of a perfect one, but we had All Water install one at our last house..They offered a good deal and for the most part, were pretty good but they used schedule 80 pipes which have consistantly had problems..But they were very good about fixing them..They initially installed the rotors in our yard but the old neighborthood couldn't provide the needed water pressure so they had to change it all to pop up sprayers..In our current house we have the rotors, and I think they do better as they don't atomize the water as much so more of it goes into the ground instead of evaporating or blowing away..Now, they must be adjusted and placed correctly...So to answer your question, if all water had put schedule 40 in the ground I think it would have been fine..They always were good about getting the leaks fixed and I think it was a three year warrenty..Only thing that annoyed me was the owner came over, we did the deal then he sent over a complete crew of non english speaking workers and I had to run and find someone to translate so I could tell the team leader how I wanted something done...The fact he didn't have at least one english speaking worker sorta ****ed me off..
