Default HELP - Leaf Curl on Plum Trees ?

Leaf curl seems to attack a number of prunus species. In Cheshire I have
seen it on blackthorn which was growing on rather marshy , presumably non
ideal, ground.
Our Cheshire peach tree used to get it most years, even though I sprayed it
with Bordeaux mixture as recommended in the week after Christmas.
Our friends in Devon have a peach tree which has suffered in the same way.
In either location new leaves grow, the blistered remains are cleaned up and
burned, and the tree continues to fruit later in the year.
It seems to be a debilitating rather than fatal condition.
Best of luck!

Are the trees infested with aphids or psyllids? If not, this will probably be a virus.

I presumed the leaf curl is a fungal infection, the same as peach leaf curl.
This is very similar to the leaf curl seen in other prunus, including
blackthorn, which you would expect to be the most resistant.
Standard treatment is to spray with an adhering slow release fungicide
(Bordeaux Mixture) when the tree is dormant in the winter. The spores are in
the atmosphere but peach seems to be especially vulnerable.

its probably aphids that are causing your leaf curl, as they do on mine. its something u can control, but all sources i've read say its impossible to eradicate.

best time to spray with something ok for use on food crops yet controls aphids is just before bud break. last year this was early jan, this year i sprayed that time again, but due to the late spring this was obviously too early as buds didn't open until last last month and now a number of leaves are curling again
