Default Container Perrenials.

Any perennial suggestions for my container garden, container size is from 12 to 24in, they will be situated where they will get the sun most of the day, prefer something with a bit colour in summer and will need to survive the north east weather. Any help appreciated.

My absolute favourite are penstemon They flower a long time and are
hardy, at least here in the low area of Staffordshire.
