Default Did someone say asparagus are pest-free??

Wandered over to the allotment this evening (twilighty time) and had a look
at the couple of asparagus spears still showing ... the biggest one I found
was coated with some kind of long red, spotty minibeast, and there were 2
slugs slithering their way up the stem!
