Default Salvia Coccinea : "Lady in Red" question

Hi ,
I've just been given a tray of Salvia ( Lady in Red ) for bedding, the
heads are just about to flower. Now as there is still a risk of frost I
am vary of planting them in my flower bed. If I were to pot them should
I pinch off the flowering heads now or when I decide to bed them for
the summer ?
Thanks !

Uncle C
