not seen (or heard) any in the garden for years :-(
not even seen any squished ones on the road

Only a few years ago we had a lot of hedgehogs and pheasants in the
garden and lane. When badgers moved in to the area the first sign was
dug-out wasp and bee nests from the banks along the lane; then a summer
when the pheasants brought no chicks to be fed (ground nesters don't
stand a chance against badgers).

Now we have no pheasants or hedgehogs (not even squished ones).

Janet.
