Default tomato "blossom end rot" what to do? (thanks)

We had blossom end rot here on the coast and it seems that water was the
problem. Now we water the base of the plants only, no overhead watering.
Also, we have a cover (made of plastic)for the bed where the tomatoes are to
guard against rain or heavy dew. We've beat it that way for three years
now. Don

Thanks to all. My tomatos are growing in containers and consuming
unbelievable quantities of water, so keeping them happy is a challange.
Going to have to do a little more reading on calcium, though. How to get

it
to the plants in usable form. Organic would be cool.
Thanks again,
Lynn
