I admire a sunburst-locust tree and have taken some cuttings from the
tree. Was
wondering if anyone has ever been successful at root propagation from
cuttings
of locust trees?

has more info on grafting honeylocust.

http://na.fs.fed.us/spfo/pubs/silvic...riacanthos.htm

does say that

"Propagation, particularly of high quality clonal stock, can
be achieved by grafting, budding, and cuttings from hardwood,
softwood, and roots (7). Root cuttings appear to be the best
method of reproducing desirable strains in large quantities at
reasonable cost. At times other species or varieties are
grafted onto the rootstock of honeylocust (24)."
