It's my understanding that mushroom soil is aged horse manure. "Spent" is
after the mushrooms have grown and been harvested. If this is so, you get
the same thing with aged horse manure, maybe even a tiny bit better since
it's not been "used" yet.

I think it's mainly aged horse manure but I think some straw
or hay has also been added.
