Default Winterizing Container Miniature Roses?

Planting it, pot & all is a recognized way of
winter protecting roses. Chicago is Zone 5
or so so dig a 2' deep hole, put the pot in
and then cover with mulch. Some people
put the pot on the side & cover but planting
it normally works just as well.

Do this By november or so as the rose
has to acclimatize to the cold. Don't cut
or trim it in any way. do that after winter.

I'm in the Chicago area and my son gave me two ~18" ceramic bowls with
miniature roses this year. They've been kept on my patio, but I don't

know
what to do with them over the winter.

Would bringing them inside work (extremely limited window space) or would

it be
best just to plant them in the ground?

Thoughts, please!
