Default BLOOD-RED HARVEST - The new pheasant shooting season

"sport" is in harvesting pheasants for the bag, not the pot........"
Most of the pheasants shot are sold to game dealers who wouldn't touch them
if they were "scraggy".
Of the birds released almost a third are taken by foxes etc, a third shot
and the remaining third live to breed.

But then they are a foreign bird not a native species so there is an
argument to remove them totally from the UK environment.
