Default coelogyne cristata var. lemoniana

Top o' the mornin' to ya! (my best Irish accent) They seem to like cool &
grow in mist? Suppose you have J. Pfal's Encyclopedia, but just in case.....

| hi all,
|
| attended my first officially sanctioned AOS show in sumner, wa this past
| wkend.
| a beautiful array of exquisite orchids to drool over that was almost
beyond
| belief.
|
| here's my question - fell in love with & purchased a large coelogyne
| cristata var. lemoniana.
| (synonym-cymbidium speciosissimum)
| it is in a round 10 inch plastic pot w/ what appears to be very little
| compost. there are at least 14 cascading raceme (is that correct use of
| word?) - ie., multifloral - multiple flowers on each cascading stalk.
yes,
| educate me - i'm sure this is a mangled description :-
|
| i've read the information provided by simon schuster's guide to orchids
| but...book learning vs. practical application can often be significantly
| different!
|
| so, if any of y'all happen to have this lovely in your collection - your
| care instructions would be very much appreciated.
|
| thanks
