They are the wonderful, old primroses, which seem to have a second
flower growing out of the first. They get their name from the
Elizabethan men's fashion of wearing two pairs of hose (tights!), one
on top of the other, and with the outer pair's tops turned down
slightly so you could see there were two.

They were recently rejuvenated by a breeder who has managed to
stabilise the strain so they come almost true from seed (before it was
very random).

Now all I have to do is remember who it was...
