Gardening is not supposed to be fun.

If God had meant gardening to be fun
he would *not* have:
- deposited boulders in the soil, the kind you
clang on with your shovel and the pain shoots out
your opposite ear.
- sent rain to your newly dug hole.
- set the sun on broil the day you get your friends to help you lay the liner.
- directed a root to break through that liner.
- given you one week of clear water and then cursed you with three months of
solid green water.
- designed koi to change their pretty colours.
- invented crafty fish eating land sharks such as herons, kingfishers, snakes,
snapping turtles and raccoons.

I could go on but you get the picture.
You see, we're still paying for Adam and Eve's
behavior in the Garden of Eden, how else can
you explain slugs, snails, aphids, mites, earwigs...
