Default Chemical weeding arround young trees

"John Towill" wrote in message

I have a number of young trees planted just over a year ago. Keeping an
area around their base weed free is something of a problem. Is it

advisable
to kill growth around using a glyphosate based weed killer?
TIA

Should be OK as long as you cover the trunck while you apply it.
Glyphosphate stops working once it hits the soil so shouldn't get into the
tree roots. You may find it worthwile putting down some weed-suppressing
membrane and mulching the area for the future.
