Here on the Black Isle (20 miles north of Inverness) we noticed our
first frog spawn this afternoon, just one day earlier than last year.
My husband was planning to drain the lower pond tomorrow to clean the
circulating pump. We'll just have to hope it keeps going until the
autumn and try to clean it then.

Can anyone tell me how long it is from frogs mating to laying?!
We've had loads of frogs around but seen no spawn yet.
