Default Seed exchanges (was oak tree bonsai)

P.S if anyone wants fresh English Oak acorns later in the year I can
pick up bucketfuls, there are loads of very mature Oaks around where I
live also plenty of Holly too.

We are an international group, so we should keep in mind that many of
us should not take people up on offers of seed because of quarantine
restrictions. People in the same country as the person offering the
seed can probably take advantage of the offer, but it depends on the
seed. I would strongly discourage anyone from accepting oak acorns
from quarantined counties in California, for instance, because of
"sudden oak death"; even people in neighboring counties!

Seeds of most plants can be purchased inexpensively from companies who
have a legal responsibility to know the laws, and that should be your
first choice.

Nina, being a wet blanket as usual.

I just got a catalog from a company called "plants of the southwest"
(www.plantsofthesouthwest.com), which had some unusual american native
plant seeds.
