Default Postdoc position on molecular forestry in Singapore

One post-doctoral position is immediately available at the Temasek Life
Sciences Laboratory, National University of Singapore. Successful candidate
is expected to join the team to work mainly on the molecular forestry
project including cloning of genes involved in flowering or wood formation,
functional studies of genes cloned and finally conferring beneficial traits
to transgenic trees.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or expecting a Ph.D. degree on molecular
biology and at least one first authored publication in an international
peer-reviewed journal. The candidate should have excellent track record for
research and good experience in molecular biology techniques such as general
cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, library construction, PCR, genomic DNA or RNA
blot, expression of proteins and western blot. The candidate should also
possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to
conduct a project independently. Good knowledge of botany and plant
physiology, experience of in situ hybridization and phenotypic
complementation, experience on plant tissue culture will be advantageous.

In addition to an attractive remuneration package, the successful candidate
may be eligible for relocation and settling-in allowance, staff housing
subsidy scheme and children's education allowance. Other benefits include

individual's work performance.
