the bacteria that break everything down need oxygen. is the pump flow too fast for
the UV? do you have a place for solids to settle in the filter?

Hi
I've got two filters running into a 1600 gal pond. One is a pressurized UV
type at 5000 lts & the other is a 9000 lts biological box type. They work
fine but as ever I'm looking for better water clarity / quality.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that adding an air stone into the media
of a bio filter helps with the filtration of both solids and bacteria etc.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks
