Default Disease and the Aging Aquarium

Location: Alderney Gate Public Library: Helen Creighton Room
(Dartmouth, Nova Scotia)
Time: Sunday Nov. 18th, 2-4:00pm

For the upcoming meeting in Nova Scotia, there will be a video
screening and discussion on "Disease and the Aging Aquarium" which
will emphasize the importance of preventive maintenance, minimizing
stress and creating conditions in tanks that favor fish health. (Good
Water Quality) The parasitic relationship will also be discussed and
the importance of correct diagnosis.

There will also be a video and some discussion on some of the changes
that take place as an aquarium ages: water quality and the importance
of avoiding pollution by testing -- especially for unseen pollutants
such as ammonia; the mix of fish -- especially important as they grow
and reach sexual maturity and the importance of finding a good
reliable pet store. (I'm told there will also be a poem about fish
excrement.) Other, more subtle changes such as dimming fluorescent
lights, clogging air stones, etc. will also be discussed.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Door prizes and raffles are also
available so don't miss out on some fantastic items!!

As per usual, coffee/tea will be provided as well as some sweets. If
you would like to bring your favorite munchies along, feel free to do
so. See you all there
