How were the roots when you repotted? What kind of media was it in?

Just won a Brassolaeliocattleya and I noticed the stems are wrinkled. Is
this because of lack of water? It was in need of repotting, so I did.

Any ideas or will the repotting do the trick? It was in bad need of a
