Default Weird Stem - Weird Stem.JPG [01/01]

Hi, all,

I have had my dendrobiums growing in full morning sun, hanging such that all
have no crowding from eachother. This morning, while watering, I saw a strange
sight that I have never seen in my plants.

My dendrobiums are all coming into the bloom cycle, but this plant is a first
for me. The plant is Den. Isami Doi (Den. Jacqualin Thomas x Den. gouldii
'Blue Hawaii').

Any comments as to why this curvature should happen on a plant that is not
crowded or hindered in any way. Also note that there are two other stem
growths from the same cane, with no apparent 'twisting'.
