permaculture course in wales
REACT is running a 72 hour Permaculture Design Course on weekends from
May 10th to June 22nd 2003. This unique course is the first of its
kind to be run in Cardiff. The course is free, with free childcare
Themes of the course will include:
growing food in cities - a stake in our futures
beyond recycling towards energy cycling
globalisation? a bioregional perspective
community regeneration & lifestyle choices
the problem is the solution—a lateral look at design problems
On successful completion of the course participants will be awarded a
Permaculture Designers Certificate. Participants are then encouraged
to go on and develop their own projects and take up the Permaculture
Design Diploma, which is designed to take into account hands on
experience in the community.
The lead tutor, Michele Fitzsimmons, is a permaculture designer and
consultant who has been involved in numerous permaculture projects
involving local communities and schools in South Wales. She has run a
variety of permaculture courses, workshops & presentations.
The support tutor, Ken Moon, is founder of the Homegrown Allotment
Project. Ken's teaching experience is varied and includes running the
healthy living course at Grassroots City Centre Youth Project.
The course can take a maximum of 20 participants. If you wish to be
