Default Controlling - Phyllostachys aurea

Evening all

we have just bought a Phyllostachys aurea bamboo, thinking it was a clumper but have since found it can misbehave an start to run all over the garden

i was planning on planting it at the back of one of our borders, not im concerned it will take over!

so the idea is to install some kind of barrier to restrict its movements, what is the recommended space to give it? also how deep down shall i go?

i have damp proof membrane (visqueen) which i thought would be ok - im kinda concerned it would be able to escape this though

sorry for all the questions!

thanks
