Most of Petsmart driftwood is meant for turtles, lizards, etc other aqaurium buddies. Yes you need to boil driftwood from Petsmart. Some do not have as much brown when you boil, others have a lot and will turn your filter media, and water brown or yellow. Also you need to boil to make sure there are no parasities or fungus living inside those little holes in the wood.
