Exclamation clematis in clay soil!!!! any chance.

Hi I am a complete novice at all aspects of gardening, but would love to learn.
I have planted 2 clematis to cover (hopefully ) my ugly shed. Unfortunately the soil I have in my garden is mostley clay.. do you thisnk there is any chance of survival.. or even better some good growth,

The 1 is a 'Nelly Moser' can't think what the other 1 was...........
