Default Gravel depth

What depth of gravel would be needed to cover a slightly sloping area
to ensure weeds were excluded (the grass will be dead)

2 - 3 inches would be plenty, and laying down builders plastic (the thick
black stuff used in building foundations) first would be the best option.
You will never stop all weeds with just the gravel, neither will using the
plastic, but it helps.

Good luck
