Default Asparagus transplants

I have had to relocate the veggie garden and carefully lifted the asparagus corms- after cutting off the ferns which I usually leave over winter to strengthen the plant. These were transplanted into the new veggie garden, with much richer manured soil, and are now throwing new asparagus (out of season).

Should I allow these to go to ferns over winter, or pick them?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would leave them to help provide enegy for the root system to
re-establish.
