I have got a deal with optusnet, which when I told em I was leaving,
ended up costing me 1/2 of $69 and still got what was classed unlimited.
12 GB and 24 GB after hours. Dont think you can get this deal anymore,
though it would make telstra sit up and take notice.
Had to sign for 24 months but what the hey, I have got internet....

Now were talking consumer action. A great website for information
regarding pricing is http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/ where I first picked up
on it.
Those guys are technically cool! It certainly saved me from excessive
charges. Hey this is not an advertisement for Optusnet, but one
against the Telstra camp. They are mercenary with private users and have
been known to settle a court case the day before Telstra was going to
get skinned because of some nasties they had put into place with the
likes of Alphalink (now sold out due to making a great client base) Its
time consumers understood what leeches they are. PS Im not prejudiced. I
used to work for them for a short while, and saw their methods. Ruthless!

Absolutely. I know live my life with the sole purpose of ****ing them off in
any way possible. I enjoy using Skype for calls, as I know Telstra's not
getting my money, and as soon as my broadband indenture is over, I am takign
everything away from them, with great glee, and giving my money to people
who deserve it. But definitely not Microsoft, aka 'We're going to sell you
suckers a $300 programme then charge you $50+ if it breaks like we know it
will....'

Until Linux gets user friendly we will have to put up with useless
things like Vista, which is full of bugs and will be till they go back
to the drawing board. Why haven't they fixed XP yet?
Its usable but they should not be allowed to develop an unneeded
operating system till the old one works flawlessly, or is that going to
stop users from buying the new buggy Vista?
Meanwhile if you want to get out on a limb, get as confused as all out,
try this linux version UBUNTU Do a google search for it.
PS re telstra share holders. You have been conned. We always owned it.
Shares do not look like they will go up at all and will most likely
plummet, but stubborn business and governemnt will try and support them
anyway.
A bit like the tail wagging the dog really.

I'm tempted....how badly can i bugger the pc up if i change to Linux?
Can I compartmentalize it or something, so I can keep both? And i don't see
the point of Vista. XP works fine. More money grubbing IMO. And as for
Telstra, yeah, lets buy shares with the biggest rip off agent around, who
cons us daily for all we're worth, and is run by an idiot.

Hey, this is off topic and is a gardening page....
Well for all gardeners wishing a free copy of Ubuntu (You haft ta start
sometime) go here and you can send for it. BTW they will mail you a
copy from this site. http://www.ubuntu.com/
The instigator of this program is a multimillionaire who also feels
people are being dudded by microsoft, which being a corporation is the
problem with the world today Moron that later pun intended.

Regarding Linux.
you can compartment it BUT The learning curve on how to do this may be a
little daunting. With something like a partition manager and a free copy
of Ubuntu and help from this page http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/
Warning Arrgh a bigpond website..
To make it easy to restore, if you loose your drive you should also
use an image program like Acronis.
His story is interesting Read more on that on that website.

Re Telstra run by a Mexi can who cant? Sol someone Arriba!!!
