i have a baby( was 5cm across ) stag that i have been watering through the
drought but it has lately developed a small white spot all over it and isnt
growing like it used too...
(now the new shoot is 1cm and not growing ) i water it every day but i still
seem to be losing it, i dont know what to do to keep it alive and am lost
for a cause
any tips would be greatly appreciated

I have some elks that I feed lettuce leaves to once a week. They are
extremely healthy as and I water these daily also. The lettuce breaks down
because the slugs, slaters and other small bugs eat it all. I n the process
creating leaf mould inside.

i would assume if you aren't feeding them then you maybe washing away what
little nutrient they have.

Try banana leaves cut up and try a little liquid fertiliser, dip the
whole thing (if possible) in a large container of water, if it looks
like its drying out. Try a little liquid fertiliser (said it twice
because it usually works due to trace elements etc)
Dipping in the whole plant causes water to soak in properly, removing
any air bubbles and forcing water into the whole mount, if its mounted etc.
It may be that its got a fungal growth. A little copper sulphate wil
lhelp with this or some anti fungal preparations (though that may be
overkill)
